You would think that simple consonant vowel consonant words (CVC) that can be sounded out style books would be easy to find but this is NOT true! I love how they tell a simple story. They are very simple with short words that don't have any confusing sounds in them. Did you do multiple times per day? We got the pre-reader collection for his 2nd birthday and he likes them (the stories with the characters more than the letter introductions), but he’s 4 now and I’d really like to start him on the main series.If I remember right, the set is split, the first half of the books in one collection, the second half-life in the next collection.Thank you! — If they’re not interested, maybe wait a few months and try again.I also heard that Scholastic is discontinuing the COLLECTIONS (not sets) of Bob Books. They are not books that the child can “read” themselves like the other Bob Book Sets. My daughter just got this collection for her fifth birthday. My son loves these. My 6 year old is JUST learning to read, and gets practice books from school about once a week (til she masters them).
If they’re having a fun time with it then great!! The individual sets are between $11-$17 each. What a great way to save money, getting 2 sets at a time. One collection is between $24-29, but you are getting TWO sets for that price. If your kid knows the sounds each consonant and vowel makes, he/she is ready for BOB.
