It was a cute retelling of Cinderella, but nothing special. Most people have never even heard of Eleanor Farjeon, yet she wrote more than thirty works of fiction, three plays, thirty-three collections of poetry, and numerous biographies and memoirs. It didn't hold my attention but not because it is old but because of how similar the plot was.
